The IDI works closely with Teesside University’s School of Computing to deliver Animex Pro. This one day conference, aimed at those working with the games and animation industries runs alongside the hugely successful Animex Festival, which takes place on the Teesside University campus each year.  Animex Pro has seen speakers like Max Howard, Tony West and Matt Tateishi from Lucas Arts.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized
events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.

TEDxTeessideUniversity is a independently organised TED event that has taken place in the Phoenix Building at Teesside University over the last two years.

The IDI has a close relationship with Codeworks and often collaborates on exciting projects. Codeworks are responsible for bring the area exciting and iconic events and gatherings such as Thinking Digital, DI:BI, Games Horizon and Think and a Drink.
